Responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY:

Tritech Group are manufacturing experts and suppliers of precision products to global Aerospace & Defence industry giants and to support our rapid growth we are recruiting for a range of positions across our UK facilities.
The laboratory technician will be based within the CNC lathe room working directly with the technical team. The laboratory technician aims to ensure adequate support for all technical activities at Wrexham and is required to meet the necessary external and internal technical/quality standards.
The employee will willingly undertake, upon request, any other task they are able to perform. Elements of the role may vary as new technology, procedures and equipment are introduced.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Machining of steel and Inconel test bars via CNC lathe to support production.
  • Monitor/checking of coating slurries (testing viscosity, density, Ph, temp, binder of solids, refractory solids and bacteria check)
  • Performing tensile testing on steel and aluminium specimens.
  • Chemical analysis of all group sites (OES)
  • Preparation of macrostructure and microstructure samples.
  • Examination of macro/microstructures and compiling of reports.
  • Titration of passivation solution.
  • Performing hardness tests (Vickers, Brinell and Rockwell methods).
  • Pyrometry calibration
  • Scrap designation
  • Purchasing of laboratory consumables.
  • Ferrite determination.
  • Wax testing (Congealing Point, Drop Melt point, Ash value, Penetration, Viscosity, melting point and water content).
  • Modulus of Rupture testing.
