WSP’s National Technical Contracting – Geotechnical Laboratories team plays a critical role supporting our Earth & Environment and Geotechnical & Tunnels businesses across Australia. Due to continued growth, we are seeking Intermediate Geotechnical Laboratory Technicians to join our expanding NATA-accredited laboratory network. As a Laboratory Technician you'll: * Safely retrieve, prepare and test samples including soil, rock, aggregate and concrete * Undertake routine laboratory testing under supervision in line with relevant standards and ISO 17025 requirements * Operate and assist with maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment * Support logistics including sample handling, storage, shipping and disposal * Work collaboratively with engineers, scientists and laboratory teams to meet project deadlines * Participate in site visits and project‑specific rosters as required * Maintain accurate records including timesheets and expenses * Actively contribute to a strong health, safety and environmental culture What you'll bring: * Strong attention to detail with good time management skills * 2+ years previous experience as a Laboratory Technician, ideally within an environmentally focused lab * Clear written and verbal communication skills * Basic mathematics and working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel) * Enthusiastic, organised and keen to learn * Completed high school mathematics (essential) * Certificate III in Laboratory Techniques is advantageous but not required * Ability to obtain a White Card and undertake first aid training * Hold a valid Australian driver’s license Why WSP?
