DATE POSTED: 07/10/2026 CLOSING DATE: 07/20/2026 DEPARTMENT: Fleet Maintenance STARTING SALARY: $21.39/hr JOB SUMMARY PURPOSE: Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor-Fleet Services, is responsible for performing general laborer functions to include; picking up parts from vendors, delivering part to work sites, washing and cleaning vehicles, moving and unloading trailers, fuel company vehicles and perform other related general labor functions. Under the direct supervision of the Manager - Materials Management, is responsible for performing general laborer functions to include; Cleaning and refilling jugs with Ice and water for each Line Truck daily, janitorial duties in and around the warehouse areas, including material laydown area, and parking lot. Also, other non-essential miscellaneous duties as assigned. EDUCATION: * High School Diploma or equivalent EXPERIENCE: * 0-3 years or more experience required MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: * Minimum of six (6) months experience in a general laborer or similar capacity. * Knowledge of general laborer practices and procedures; general parts, components and apparatuses. * Knowledge of general laborer Safety Practices and Procedures. * Ability to operate power and electrical tools, prepare basic reports, and have good manual dexterity. * Ability to communicate effective, both orally and in writing. * Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with fellow employees, supervisors, managers and the public. * Valid Driver's License* and must comply with El Paso Electric Company's Driving Policy. * Valid Commercial Driver's License* is required for Fleet Services. * Available to work irregular hours and overtime as required. * Must pass a Human Performance Evaluation (HPE). ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: FLEET SERVICES The following essential job functions are accomplished by utilizing hand, small power and electrical tools, trailers, forklift, air impact wrench, bolt cutters, wires, cables, scrap materials, safety equipment and other related equipment and materials. * Refuels, washes and cleans Company vehicles. * Picks up parts and/or equipment from various vendors. * Delivers parts and/or equipment to various work sites. * Separates and removes useable scrap material from scrap wire. * Separates various wires and cable into sorting bins for shipping. * Re-stocks usable material to appropriate inventory shelves as required. * Prepares paperwork for entry into the on-line inventory system as required. * Moves material trailers in and out of the warehouse for unloading material as required. * Drives Company vehicle to various sites to perform functions. * Keeps maintenance of yards as assigned. * Obtains forklift operating license and operates forklift as needed * Complies with all applicable Company policies, procedures and code of ethics as well as all applicable government laws and regulations to include employment, safety and environmental standards and regulation. MATERIALS MANAGEMENT The following essential job functions are accomplished by utilizing hand, small power and electrical tools, trailers, fork lift, air impact wrench, bolt cutters, wires, cables, scrap materials, safety equipment and other related equipment and materials. * Moves material trailers in and out of the warehouse for unloading material as required. * Drives Company vehicle to various sites to perform functions. * Keeps maintenance of yards as assigned. * Obtains fork lift operating license and operates fork lift as needed. * Complies with all applicable Company policies, procedures and code of ethics as well as all applicable governmental laws and regulations to include employment, safety and environmental standards and regulations. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS * Performs other related tasks that are not included, but are within the context of duties defined.

Responsibilities

Performs general labor duties for Fleet Services and Materials Management, including vehicle cleaning, parts delivery, and warehouse maintenance. Responsibilities also include refueling company vehicles and managing material trailers.
