Job Description Overview The Laborer & Helper is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to support the proper functioning, cleanliness, and appearance of company facilities and equipment. This entry-level role provides hands-on experience in general maintenance, light electrical work, plumbing, painting, and exterior cleaning. Key Responsibilities General Maintenance * Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks on building areas, fixtures, furniture, doors, windows, locks, and appliances. * Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot minor issues. * Maintain an organized inventory of tools, materials, and supplies. Light Electrical * Install, replace, or repair basic electrical components such as switches, outlets, lighting fixtures, fans, and smoke detectors. * Follow electrical safety procedures and applicable codes. * Test and inspect electrical systems and equipment to ensure proper operation. Plumbing * Install, replace, and repair basic plumbing fixtures such as faucets, sinks, toilets, showers, and pipes. * Clear clogged drains and toilets. * Detect and repair leaks; follow plumbing codes and safety standards. Painting * Prepare and paint interior and exterior surfaces, including walls, ceilings, doors, and trim. * Apply primer, paint, and sealant. * Use brushes, rollers, and sprayers to complete finish work. * Match and mix paint colors as needed. Exterior Cleaning/Pressure Washing * Clean and sanitize external surfaces such as sidewalks, driveways, patios, and roofs. * Operate pressure-washing equipment safely and effectively. * Remove dirt, mold, algae, and stains while following environmental and safety guidelines. Additional Responsibilities * Perform other related duties as assigned to support the needs of the department and business. Qualifications * High school diploma or GED required. * At least one year of experience in maintenance or a related field preferred. * Basic knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and painting. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Strong communication and customer-service skills. * Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and work in various indoor/outdoor conditions. * Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines.
