Your Role As a Tree Care Apprentice/Labourer, you’ll work alongside skilled arborists and arborist Foremen while learning all aspects of Groundsperson duties. This role is hands-on, physical, and outdoors every day, with a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and professional conduct. What You’ll Do Safely complete tasks as assigned by the Arborist or Foreperson on site Learn and perform Groundsperson duties, including: General site cleanup (raking, chipping, debris removal) Safely operating chippers and saws Maintaining tools and equipment (sharpening, greasing, oiling) Learning emergency procedures and safety protocols, including boom operation Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks Wear required personal protective equipment at all times Act as a Company Ambassadorwhen in uniform by: Maintaining a polite, professional attitude Providing excellent customer service Being courteous to clients and the public Maintaining an orderly appearance What You Bring Education & Certifications Valid Driver’s License (Class 7N or higher) Secondary School completion considered an asset Post-secondary education in horticulture considered an asset Traffic Control Person certification considered an asset Experience Experience working outdoors in all weather preferred Experience in a physical, fast-paced, safety-oriented environment Skills & Abilities Safety-minded with strong situational awareness Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills Strong problem-solving abilities Clear verbal communication skills Ability to work effectively with crew members and supervisors Comfortable working as part of a team Physical Requirements This role is 100% labour-based.
