Job Description
Our Pigging & Decoking division is looking to add Labourers (Operators) to our existing team. The work is physical in nature where you will learn to operate specialty pigging and decoking equipment. The work varies day to day and you would be deployed to our various projects within the Red Deer area as well as throughout the province. Living in close proximity to Red Deer is necessary.
Our Pigging and Decoking team provides support to refineries, petrochemical facilities and associated industrial complexes by cleaning pipes and pipelines by means of hydraulically propelling a mechanical pig through the line.
Shifts vary greatly as the work is mostly project based. With that being said there is a lot of overtime opportunities!

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1+ year of industrial experience, preference given to those with pigging experience
  • Class 5 driver’s license (GDL not accepted) with no more than 5 demerits in the last 2 years and experience
  • Onsite training will be provided but any knowledge of cleaning heaters, boilers and pipelines is considered an asset
  • CSO or CSTS-2020 a must
  • H2S Alive / Standard First Aid preferred, not required
  • Driver’s abstract with no more than 5 demerits
  • Ability to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Flexibility in scheduling, both day and night shifts will be required

SKILLS:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • You are safety focused when it comes to people and equipment
  • Perform physically demanding work including climbing multiple flights of stairs and carrying equipment (able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis)
  • Work outdoors in harsh weather conditions
  • You’re happiest working in a team, sharing a laugh with your coworkers and getting the job done safely

Responsibilities
  • Safely mobilizes equipment to and from client sites, company stations and other facilities as directed
  • Set up and operate specialty pigging equipment to clean systems at facilities
  • Provide mechanical troubleshooting support in the field in order to ensure pigging equipment maintains operable
  • Provide mechanical support in the shop in order to repair and maintain equipment
  • Ensure completion of accurate paperwork pertaining to execution of scope of work in order to provide the client with accurate records of operation
  • Proactively ensure that all personal training requirements are met and maintained
  • Maintain open and truthful dialogue with Supervisors, Project Managers and Operations Manager to ensure understanding of scope of work and job readiness
  • Haul hoses, PPE and tools to where the work is being done
  • Complete required paperwork for projects and jobs
  • Complete field level risk assessments
