POST-SECONDARY SUMMER STUDENT HR-SS-2026-14 Job Title: Student Labourer Date Posted: Friday, February 6, 2026 Department: Public Works Closing Date: 4pm, Friday, February 20, 2026 Location: Public Works Reports To: Manager Public Works Operations Hourly Wage: $23.50 per hour with benefits as per the Employment Standards Act. Job Summary: This position will perform manual labourer duties including shoveling, lifting, flagging, repair work, light construction work, whipper snipping, grass cutting, planting flowers and garbage collection. This position will also perform general housekeeping and cleaning duties in public park washrooms. This position will work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Anticipated employment period from May to August 2026. Position Requirements: High School diploma Must have CSA approved protective footwear with minimum 5 inches high cut CSA Grade 1 with sole puncture protection. Have a valid class “G” driver’s license The successful applicant will be required to obtain and submit a criminal background check and driver’s abstract at their own expense prior to start date. This position is open to students who are presently attending school on a full-time basis and returning to a recognized post-secondary institution (full-time) in September 2026.
