The Labourers and Packer Operators will report to the Highways Superintendent. Responsibilities include:

• Operate equipment and machinery such as jackhammers, bobcats and small hand tools;
• Assist skilled trades people and perform a wide range of tasks at construction sites;
• Loading, unloading, identifying, and distributing materials and equipment;
• Cleaning and preparation of construction sites;
• Safely operate roller machine to compress asphalt to maintain a smooth surface;
• Work closely with foreman and other crew members to assist in paving operations;
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance and ensures that roller is in safe, proper working order including fluid checks and proper lubrication;
• Monitor all gauges and warning lights;
• Follow all safety, compliance, and environmental requirements in alignment with company standards;
• Keep equipment clean and prepares equipment for transport on flatbed when needed.
