Description LAC Federal is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Library Clerk to join our team at a larger federal library in Washington, D.C. As part of a team of four, you will be responsible for shifting large quantities of books for a collection move. RESPONSIBILITIES: Pull and reshelve books and other collection materials Move items between locations using book trucks Requirements High School diploma or equivalent Knowledge of Library of Congress call numbers Ability to lift, push/pull, carry and shelve items weighing up to 35 pounds Ability to stand or move for long periods of time, bend, and climb ladders Attention to detail Ability to develop knowledge of standard law library policies, procedures, and services related to one or more library functions Ability to learn and follow complex procedures and policies Demonstrated organizational skills and initiative to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Effectively respond to changing priorities Work independently as well as in a team environment PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Preferred knowledge of languages other than English Physical Requirements Ability to sit for long periods of time and to maintain focus on projects such as computer screens or detailed paperwork. Occasionally lifting of items weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds such as files, books, and other materials.
