Requirements Position Title: Program Staff—Lacrosse Coach Reports to: Sports Director Department: Youth Sports Classification: Part-Time, Non-Exempt POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Sports Director this position will develop, organize, and implement a high quality program for members and participants. This role will ensure the program criteria and objectives are carried out, while also maintaining a safe, enjoyable and engaging experience to all participants. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Directs and supervises program to meet set objectives Create program curriculum that is appropriate for the physical ability of program participants Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness and the impact of the program Ensures that YMCA safety standards are met and enforced Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor QUALIFICATIONS: At least 18 years of age Prior lacrosse coaching or playing experience preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to relate well to the public Exceptional customer service and delivery skills Completion of Child Abuse Prevention and Blood Borne Pathogens trainings within 60 days of hire. Understanding of YMCA First Aid, Safety and Risk polices and procedures. WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment primarily outdoors The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate Employee may occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 20 pounds Flexible work hours as needed CORE COMPETENCIES: Mission Advancement: Accepts and demonstrates the Y’s values.
