Overview:

• Position: Lactation Consultant
• Schedule: PRN- no set schedule or guaranteed hours. The need will be primarily day shift with flexible hours. Weekend availability required and will be working alongside team to fill in staffing needs. This will be discussed more in an interview.
• Department: Lactation
• Location: Presbyterian Medical Center, Charlotte, North Carolina. This team consists of RN’s, Surg Techs, Lactation Consultants, and a dedicated OB Anesthesiologist as well as a 24/7 neonatal NP and respiratory.
• Requires current IBCLC certification

Provides breastfeeding/ lactation guidance to patients, families, staff, and community in delivering education, information and training that responds to individualized needs in accordance with the current policies and procedures. Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, preferred. Bachelor’s degree, preferred. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in mother/baby care or breast feeding education, required.
• Licensure/Certification:
• Current IBCLC certification, required.
• Current RN licensure in appropriate state, preferred.
• Additional Skills Required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Excellent customer service skills.
