Facilitates lactation education, resources and support to patients and healthcare providers including nurses, mid-wives, physicians, educators, and social service personnel ensuring services provided are consistent with organizational policies, applicable research and current standards. Delivers individual and classroom lactation education as needed. Evaluates specific lactation problems by telephone and develops a management and follow-up plan of care when indicated. EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE: RN-Registered Nurse of California IBLCE-Certified Lactation Consultant BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 2 years recent relevant experience Seasoned acute hospital Lactation RN - preferred SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Maternal-infant assessment skills. Organizational skills with ability to prioritize, problem solve and meet deadlines. Interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to gather data to complete reports on a timely basis. Written and verbal interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills. Pay Range is $78.91 to $103.37 / hour The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location.
