The Lactation Consultant provides assessment, assistance, and support related to infant nutrition, with a focus on breastfeeding, for infants, adult and adolescent mothers, and their families. In this role, you will promote positive health outcomes through education, guidance, and compassionate support during the early stages of infant feeding and maternal care. Responsibilities Provides assessment, assistance, and support of infant nutrition, particularly breastfeeding, to infants, adult and adolescent mothers, and families. Provides education to staff and physicians, as well as to the community. Works closely with physicians and staff, and, promotes collaboration and communication. Participates effectively in the daily operations of both inpatient and outpatient care. Qualifications Education: As required for certification and licensure. BSN or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. Skills: Demonstrated ability of expert interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians and the community. Demonstrated ability to teach effectively. Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic health record (EHR) applicable to job responsibilities/functions. Licensure Current applicable Lactation Consultant state license. IBCLC Certification through the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBCLE). Recertification through IBCLE required every 5 years. AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers. Pay Range USD $40.06 - USD $57.28 /Hr.
