Join Our Team as a Part-Time Lactation Support Specialist! The LSS provides optimal breastfeeding support under the supervision of an IBCLC experienced Lactation staff member. Primary Responsibilities: Act as a lactation support person and resource for patients and their families under the supervision of the Lactation Consultant. Understanding and coordinating of associated lactation equipment. Provides information on additional breastfeeding resources to family. Provide support and engagement throughout the phases of the lactation journey. Maintain accurate and legible patient care records. Analytical ability and independent judgment; interpersonal skills; organizational and leadership abilities. Clinical lactation management skills including psycho-motor skills necessary to use appropriate breastfeeding aids and teaching skills to provide related in-services. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: Must be available for 500 mentored, clinical experience hours to proceed to the IBCLC/Pathway Certifying Exam, in order to become a Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and complete associated above education requirements (IBCLE). The process of completing the 500 mentored hours, studying for exam, and waiting for testing results shall be completed within one year from hire date. Must be in Pathway 1 or 3 for the IBCLC Examination. Must have completed education in the14 Health Science subject requirements (Pre-requisites for IBCLC exam).
