Description Lakota Solutions, LLC. is now seeking a Motor Vehicle Mechanic for our contract supporting Robins Air Force Base, GA. Primary Duties/Responsibilities may include: Perform preventive maintenance on material handling equipment (MHE), industrial equipment, battery chargers, motor vehicles (wheeled or tracked), off highway utility vehicles, semi and warehouse trailers, warehouse sweepers, scrap shredders, shrink wrap machines, and other miscellaneous type vehicles and equipment. Have a sound mechanical aptitude and ability, basic understanding of mechanical and electrical machinery, the ability to understand and comprehend technical manuals, drawings, diagrams, and any other technical data supplied by various manufacturers. Diagnosing source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs required. Replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts. Repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems. Electrical diagnosis on MHE Equipment. Requirements Minimum Candidate Requirements Candidate must be US Citizen Candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card Candidate must possess a minimum of (2) two years of experience in the discipline they provide support. In general, requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. Examining parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges. Operating and inspecting machines or equipment to diagnose defects. Testing overhauled equipment to insure operating efficiency. Troubleshooting and repair of electronic systems such as control cards, motor, steering and logic (PLC) controllers, hydraulic integrated systems, using manuals, hand diagnostic sets, communication wiring diagrams (schematics) Georgia Driver’s License – required to operate military vehicles without airbrakes.
