Description Introduction RETTEW is seeking an Engineer II to support our Land Development Team in either our Lehigh Valley or Lancaster office. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer with approximately two years of experience in land development who is building technical confidence and preparing for professional licensure. You will contribute to commercial and industrial development projects while expanding your design, permitting, and project coordination skills. Work Environment Workplace Designation: Hybrid Locations: Lehigh Valley, PA or Lancaster, PA Position Summary / What You’ll Do As an Engineer II supporting RETTEW’s Land Development Team, you will assist with the planning, design, and permitting of commercial and industrial development projects ranging from approximately 1 to 100 acres. This role supports technical design efforts, preparation of calculation reports, and regulatory permitting, including NPDES approvals. You will work alongside experienced engineers and project managers while progressing toward Professional Engineer licensure. Responsibilities / Day-to-Day Assist with the design of commercial and industrial land development projects ranging from 1 to 100 acres Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and supporting documentation for project deliverables Support preparation and submission of NPDES permit applications and related stormwater management documentation Develop grading, drainage, utility, erosion and sediment control, and site layout plans Perform stormwater management and hydrologic/hydraulic calculations Coordinate with project managers, designers, and permitting agencies to support project progress Participate in project meetings and assist with responding to municipal and regulatory review comments Conduct occasional field visits to support data collection, inspections, or project coordination Maintain accurate project documentation and support timely delivery of design packages Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline Approximately 2 years of experience supporting land development projects Experience with NPDES permitting and erosion and sediment control design Experience preparing engineering calculations and technical reports Experience supporting commercial or industrial land development projects Engineer-in-Training (EIT/EI) certification required Eligible to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) licensure within approximately one year Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines Preferred Experience supporting commercial and industrial site development projects ranging from 1 to 100 acres Familiarity with municipal permitting processes in Pennsylvania Experience with stormwater management design and hydrologic modeling tools Exposure to multi-discipline project coordination What We Offer Competitive salary range based on experience and qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) licensure bonus upon successful attainment of licensure Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), giving you ownership in the company Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) retirement plan with company contribution Generous paid time off and paid holidays Tuition reimbursement and support for professional licensure and continuing education Mentorship and structured professional development opportunities A collaborative, employee-owned culture where your work makes a meaningful impact Equal Opportunity & Accommodations Statement RETTEW is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
