STV is currently seeking a Landscape Architect III for its Buildings group in Owings Mills, MD. The candidate will collaborate on a wide variety of projects including conceptual master plans, schools, mixed-use, housing/apartment, commercial buildings, civil/site structures and infrastructure. The position will allow the individual to collaborate with our civil and landscape design teams in preparing documents associated with a wide variety of land development projects within the Baltimore Metropolitan area. The ideal candidate will have at least a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture and be a licensed professional landscape architect. Experience with MicroStation, Civil 3D or AutoCAD is strongly preferred. This role is an excellent opportunity for a mid-career landscape architect to: Work on high-profile projects in education, mixed-use, commercial, industrial, and institutional development. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on the full lifecycle of site development projects. Gain hands-on experience in site inventory and analysis, planting and hardscape design, and permitting. Enhance design skills with mentorship and support from senior landscape architects, senior engineers, and project managers. Key Responsibilities Prepare construction documents, permit packages, and support construction services. Utilize design software (MicroStation, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD) to create construction drawings, layouts, and models for land development projects Conduct site investigations and assessments to support design decisions. Develop sustainable and innovative solutions for site layouts, including on-structure podium landscapes, while elevating outdoor experiences for the end user. Prepare design calculations, technical reports, and feasibility studies. Coordinate with regulatory agencies to secure permits and approvals. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to integrate site and landscape design with overall project goals. Participate in client meetings and presentations to discuss project requirements and progress. Support project managers by monitoring budgets, schedules, and deliverables. Stay current with industry trends, technology, and best practices to enhance project quality. Qualifications Bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture from an accredited university (required). Licensed Professional Landscape Architect in the State of Maryland (required). 7+ years of experience in landscape architecture, land development, or a related field. Familiarity with principles of site planning and urban design, including site analysis and land use planning. Proficiency in MicroStation, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Sketchup, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite. Enscape and Land F/X, a plus. Ability to lead permitting processes in Maryland jurisdictions (Baltimore City experience a plus). Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to progress multiple projects simultaneously. Effective graphic, written, and verbal communication skills for client and team collaboration. Attention to detail and problem-solving ability. Strong knowledge of the Forest Conservation Act, native and adaptive plant material (Northeastern US), and. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment. Solid technical knowledge of construction and experience in preparing construction documents with attention to QA/QC. Compensation Range: $85,226.60 - $113,635.46 Don’t meet every single requirement?
