Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will be expected to develop and deliver river, estuary, and/or catchment management projects, provide advice to landholders and deliver services that have positive environmental outcomes on-ground.
This role delivers front line services to farmers and the community within Hunter LLS. We aim to help landholders manage our landscapes to be healthy and productive, including through provision of natural resource management information, advice and extension services.
To be successful in this role you will have a genuine interest in riparian and/or estuary rehabilitation and the capability to deliver extension services that engage rural landholders and industries in riparian practice change.
An understanding of the principles and practices of natural resource management associated with riverine and/or estuarine environments is highly desirable.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant knowledge and understanding in agriculture, environmental, natural resource management, biosecurity and/or emergency management
  • Ability and willingness to undertake a police check and medical clearance
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence and the ability and willingness to travel
  • Riparian, native vegetation and/or catchment management-based experience and/or relevant knowledge
  • High level communication, coordination and negotiation skills.
  • Good teamwork and ability to work independently.
  • High level of customer service relevant to working with landholders and liaising with external stakeholder groups.
  • Good project management skills including planning, reporting and monitoring.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results with accountability.
  • Ability to use computer-based mapping programs, such as ArcGIS.
  • Native vegetation and or river geomorphology identification skills desirable.
