Join our team as an experienced Land Survey Technician and play a key role in delivering infrastructure projects that make a lasting impact. In this role, you’ll lead field survey operations, mentor junior team members, and serve as a technical resource across a variety of projects—including construction, boundary, ALTA, topographic, and infrastructure surveys. What You’ll Do Lead field survey team operations, including planning, equipment setup, and data collection Supervise and train junior technicians on field procedures, safety, and best practices Perform quality control checks on field data and documentation Serve as a technical mentor and help develop training resources for the team Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and CAD technicians to ensure accuracy and timely delivery Interpret legal descriptions, survey plats, and construction documents Maintain high standards for field safety, equipment care, and data integrity Troubleshoot, maintain, and calibrate survey instruments (GPS, GNSS, total stations, data collectors) Continuously learn and grow professionally What You Bring Associate’s degree in civil engineering technology, Land Surveying, or related field—or 5+ years of experience Strong proficiency with surveying equipment (Trimble, Leica, Topcon, etc.) Ability to lead field crews and manage multiple tasks independently Solid knowledge of boundary law, construction layout, and topographic surveying Willingness to work outdoors in all types of weather Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs. and traverse uneven terrain Strong attention to detail, reliability, and work ethic Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites What We Offer Growth & Development Ongoing technical training Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay: $26–$45/hour (based on experience) Annual discretionary profit-sharing bonus Comprehensive benefits package including: Health, dental, and vision insurance Health Savings Account (HSA) & flexible benefits Life and disability insurance Paid time off and holidays Professional development support Additional Requirements Must pass a background check after offer acceptance Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future Widseth is an Equal Employment Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
