JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Land Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting surveys to determine land boundaries, topography, and other features. This role requires a strong understanding of civil engineering principles, data collection techniques, and the ability to work with various surveying tools and software. The Land Surveyor will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of survey data for various projects.

SKILLS

  • Proficient in data collection techniques relevant to land surveying.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, to perform calculations related to surveys.
  • Ability to operate Carlson software for data collection.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of land surveying and mathematics as applied to surveying.
  • Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately.
  • Proficient in the use of GPS technology for precise measurements.

Responsibilities
  • Organizes and coordinates the work of a survey party to perform surveys of various types, including ALTA/NSPS Land title surveys, Boundary surveys, Physical surveys, GPS control surveys, As-Built surveys, Topographic surveys, and setting control in support of Drone surveys
  • Instruct and train crew members in the use of survey equipment and field procedures
  • Gather field survey data using electronic total stations, data collectors, and GPS equipment
  • Prepare detailed schematics and draft reports based on survey findings.
  • Collaborate with civil engineers and project managers to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Ensures that field survey data is collected according to the standards set by the North Carolina.
  • Maintain accurate records of surveys conducted, including maps and legal descriptions.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards during survey processes.
