What You’ll Do Lead boundary, ALTA/NSPS, construction staking, and topographic surveys across diverse project types Supervise and mentor field crews, providing technical direction and professional development Manage survey projects from kickoff through closeout — ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met Review and prepare plats, legal descriptions, right-of-way maps, and construction drawings Operate and oversee use of GPS, robotic total stations, laser scanners, UAVs, and advanced survey technologies Collaborate directly with clients, project managers, engineers, and public agencies Serve as signing surveyor in accordance with state licensing requirements Champion safety, data integrity, and continuous improvement Continue learning and growing professionally What You Bring Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) 5-8+ years of land surveying experience Strong knowledge of boundary law, construction surveying, and local land use regulations Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and Leica or Topcon workflows Demonstrated ability to manage teams, projects, and client relationships Excellent organizational, communication, and decision-making skills Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites as needed What We Offer Growth Opportunities Specialized training in design, leadership, and business development Career advancement through continuing education, licensure, certification, and technical development Compensation & Benefits Widseth offers competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications, including: Salary range: $85,000 – $120,000 (based on experience) Discretionary annual profit-sharing bonuses Health insurance and Health Savings Account (HSA) options Flexible benefits Dental and vision coverage Life insurance Short- and long-term disability insurance Paid time off and paid holidays Professional development and continuing education support All offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background check meeting company standards.
