Description Land Technician Job Description We are looking for a Land Technician that is able to multi task and is very detail oriented. You will work daily with our Land Department to manage tracking, assist in negotiations, analyze leases and easements and input information in our data management system accurately. Responsibilities · Understands basic industry, business and technical processes utilized and is able to converse with co-workers and management using general oil and gas terminology. · Demonstrates basic understanding of different contract types (Easements, Pooling, SUA, Lease) and how to set up in the land system. · Prepares form agreements along with required Exhibits. · Developing skills to manage various datasets and databases and analyze data as required by group. · Prepares and presents the results of basic research and analysis, verbally and in writing. · Becomes familiar with internal land data systems (e.g., Quorum, Data Warehouse, Document Library, Mapping, Teams, SAP, etc.) and available external data resources (e.g. state/federal websites, Drilling Info, etc.). · Performs calculations and preliminary analysis using data results · Provides broad data support to team · Contributes to team initiatives. · Works with close supervision and specific direction from more senior employees and management. · After training, performs more routine tasks with moderate supervision. · Exhibits capability of identifying and solving problems independently. · Assists with preparation of budget material, presentations and proposals. · Processes surface and mineral documentation. · Assists with preparation of surface use agreements, assignments, oil & gas leases, exhibits, releases, extensions and ratifications. · Runs reports, creates exhibits and provides information from internal systems. · Utilizes internal systems, prepares Land related documents. · Advises IT/Secur-Serv of needed updates to internal systems. · Supports handling of intercompany, departmental and agency inquiries. · Proactively seeks information from others within the department, gaining basic understanding of Land and related systems and associated assets/projects. · Participates on departmental and cross- departmental teams. · Attends external educational events. · Corresponds with brokers and other external parties regarding work orders. Requirements Education and Experience 3+ years of related experience, including oil and gas surface land contracts College degree preferred Extremely detail oriented, organized and able to multi-task Strong communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and SharePoint Physical Essential Job Functions Sitting Standing Walking Stooping Bending Typing Lifting up to 20lbs
