Job Summary: The Landscape architect will design and plan outdoor spaces that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. They may work on a variety of projects, including gardens, recreational areas, residential, and commercial sites. The landscape architect will need to use planning and developmental skills to create aesthetically pleasing areas with plants and other outdoor elements. Key Role Responsibilities: * Design and Planning * Develop creative and practical landscape designs that meet the needs and desires of stakeholders and clients. * Prepare detailed drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD software and hand-drawing skills. * Incorporate sustainable design practices and native plantings to promote environmental stewardship * Project Management * Oversee the progress of landscape projects from initial concept to completion. * Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are met within budget and on schedule. * Conduct site analysis and feasibility studies, considering factors such as soil conditions, drainage, and the availability of utilities. * Client and Stakeholder Communication * Engage with clients to understand their vision and preferences, providing expert advice and recommendations. * Present design proposals and revisions to clients and stakeholders. * Maintain strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals. Technical Duties: * Prepare cost estimates and project timelines. * Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding land use and environmental impact. * Use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other software tools to analyze environmental data and inform design decisions. * Collaboration * Work closely with architects, civil engineers, and other professionals to integrate landscape design with overall project plans. * Participate in multidisciplinary project teams to deliver cohesive and functional outdoor spaces. Other Role Responsibilities: * Support other contracting departments as needed. * Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: * Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp) and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator). * Strong understanding of horticulture, site engineering, and sustainable design principles. * Excellent visualization and graphic design skills. * Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a team environment. * Ability to work closely with a team. * Have a positive attitude to help motivate our team to complete projects in tight deadlines. * Ability to manage stressful situations and to adapt to constant change. Education & Experience: * Education: Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or related field from an accredited institute. Master’s degree preferred. * Experience: Minimum of 5 years of working experience in landscape architecture or a related field. Proven track record of successful landscape projects demonstrated through a portfolio. * Project Management Experience preferred. * Landscape Architecture license with ability to obtain Wyoming license within twelve months of hire. Certifications & Professional Affiliations: * Professional licensure or certification (e.g., CLARB certification) is highly desirable. * OSHA 10 or ability to obtain. * Valid Driver’s License Working Environment: * Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs. * May involve working indoors and outdoors, in various weather conditions. * Office setting with some fieldwork required for site visits and inspections. * Occasional travel may be necessary for client meetings and project oversight.
