The Opportunity:
With a confirmed pipeline of truly exciting city-shaping projects, our Brisbane design studio is looking to strengthen our team with the appointment of a Junior Landscape Architect who is interested in growing their skills and career. We’re seeking a purpose driven Landscape Architect, passionate about cities and people who has a keen interest in playing a role in some of Brisbane’s major urban regeneration projects. To thrive in this role, you will have experience using 3D modelling software including Revit.

You will:

  • Participate in creative landscape and public realm design; and deliver input into multiple projects from concept stage through to design development, production, and documentation.
  • Work across a wide range of project types from individual sites, with a specific focus on collaborating with architects and engineers on built form projects.
  • Prioritise multiple projects and deadlines and manage project involvement under the guidance of the Directors, Associate Directors, and Project Managers.
  • Bring an understanding of design principles and methods and the ability to apply them in the urban environment.
  • Problem solve and develop objective and informed insights to aid the design process.
  • Utilise excellent verbal and written communication skills in preparing visual aids/drawings, report preparation, preparation of meeting notes, correspondence etc.
  • Visually and creatively communicate key design ideas and outcomes in clear and succinct way across a range of methods and platforms including a mix of advanced skills in freehand drawing and the Adobe Creative Suite.

About You:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture at a graduate or post graduate level
  • Minimum 1 - 5 years relevant experience, ideally gained in a private practice or with local council or government.
  • Communicates graphically at a proficient level using both digital and hand drawn formats to convey design ideas, concepts and documentation
  • Brings an understanding of design principles and methods and the ability to apply them in the urban environment.
  • Competent and efficient using industry standard software including Revit, AutoCAD and Adobe Suite.
  • Experience using SketchUp, Rhino, Lumion and other 3D modelling software will also be favourable for this role.
  • Engages in cross-team communication and solution development to help inform outcomes and project delivery.
