Chalet’s Landscape Services group in North Chicago, IL (near Gurnee) has an opportunity for a Residential Maintenance Crew Supervisor to join our team. Founded in 1917 - one hundred and eight years in business is what we call a good start! Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee all aspects of maintenance job sites including keeping accurate and updated site information, developing job schedules, approving time tickets, monitoring productivity of assigned crews, checking tools and equipment, inspecting maintenance work and applying herbicide or pesticide when necessary.
  • Internal liaison between Client Relationship Managers and crews to ensure that we are expertly and efficiently executing all processes to meet our clients’ residential property needs and exceed their expectations.
  • Instruct crews on proper maintenance policies and procedures, use of equipment, and safety. Assist Department Manager in training employees and monitoring their progress.
  • Responsible for the safety, performance and well-being of employees who you supervise.
  • Consistently improve the efficiency of labor hours and material.

Requirements:

We are looking for a customer-focused, pro-active team player with experience and the following qualifications:

  • Previous landscape maintenance management experience (residential preferred) where you have expertly provided customer service and supervised crews.
  • A two- or four-year degree in a related field or CLT certification is preferred.
  • Strong plant identification and knowledge.
  • Obtain and maintain an Illinois Pesticide Operator License
  • An outgoing personality with an ethical and trustworthy approach that has a track record for establishing long term customer relationships and fostering collaboration among staff.
  • A hands-on approach to getting things done.
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Aspire or other automated time ticket and billing systems is a plus.
  • Have and maintain a current driver’s license and be able to lift 50+lbs.
  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

This is a full time, year-round position that will work 5-6 days in the busy season, and a 4-day work week in the off season.
