JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Landscape Designer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support our lead designers in developing landscape plans, preparing presentations, and assisting with project management tasks. POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of A.J. Benys and Design Manager the primary functions of this position include but are not limited to managing and maintaining systems and procedures for the efficient and profitable operation of the business including:
· Review all Design Concepts, Preliminary drawings and creative aspects of projects with AJ, Design Manager prior to presentation.
· Review all Estimating and Budgetary aspects of project with Traci, General Manager.
· New Client Leads and New Client folders will be issued to you by Design Manager and General Manager based on your abilities, and geographic location for that project.
· New Client Sales and Initial Client meetings.
· Preparation, implementation, and coordination of Landscape Designs.
· Estimating – Prepare “take-off’s” for proposals utilizing established formats and procedure i.e. Estimating Worksheet, Digitizer etc.
· Design Presentation with clients.
· Preparation of “Contracts” utilizing established formats and procedure. i.e. Terms & Conditions, Exhibits A & B, Payment Schedule etc.
· Responsible for monitoring and collecting all Performance Deposits and Final Payments for job.
· Responsible for orchestrating all “walkthroughs” for job.
· Client Relations
· Sub-Contractor relations & coordination.
· Assist Production Manager’s in creating “Timeline” for new jobs.
· Assist other Designers as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or a related field.
· 1-3 years of experience in landscape design or a related role.
· Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
· Strong understanding of plants, materials, and sustainable landscape practices.
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
· Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently when needed.
· Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to job sites as required.
· Company Designer/Architect creating detailed landscape plans, including hardscape, planting plans, and irrigation layouts.
· Prepare project presentations and visual materials, including 2D and 3D renderings, using design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
· Conduct site visits to take measurements, assess site conditions, and document existing landscapes.
· Research plants, materials, and sustainable practices to support design decisions.
· Collaborate with the design team to develop creative solutions that meet client needs and project goals.
· Assist in project management tasks, including coordinating with contractors, scheduling, and ensuring timely delivery of design documents.
· Maintain organized project files and documentation.
· Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and vendors to ensure the successful execution of design projects.
