Landscape Designer / Architect (Los Angeles) - Open to all levels At Sasaki, we purposefully take on challenging work that we see as opportunities to evolve and stretch. For a mid-sized firm, we guard our small-firm feel focusing less on hierarchy than on working together to yield the best designs. We are currently seeking collaborators in our Landscape Architecture discipline. The most successful candidates can deliver design excellence, attention to detail, organization and time management skills, and potential to grow into leadership roles over time. Not every designer needs to deliver on all of these attributes at once, but this is the mix of talent we seek. You have a strong working knowledge of popular trends in public space, resilience, green infrastructure and have an interest in detail design, including material selection, construction techniques, and planting. * Collaborative spirit – the idea of interdisciplinary teamwork gets you excited * Passion – you have a healthy dose of ambition for yourself, your team, the work (and the firm you’ll come to love) * Proactive resourcefulness – you’re energetic and positive about solving problems and take initiative to find a way to ‘yes.’ You are self-motivated and can manage your time effectively while juggling multiple projects. * Growth-orientation – you’re curious and want to find greater ways to impact the world around you * Humanistic sensibility – you design for people and you generally enjoy working with others * Leadership – you are building experience in guiding teams, mentoring staff, listening and incorporating the ideas of others, and are interested in representing Sasaki to clients and the greater design community What you’ll do: * Develop and coordinate all facets of project design from conceptual design (sketches, illustrative graphics, 3D-Models, renderings) through construction documentation (details, plans, document production). * Perform production functions: sketching, drafting, documentation, and model creation * Prepare design presentation packages Experience and Education: * A Professional Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program * Open to all levels of experience * Experience in construction documentation strongly encouraged High level of proficiency in: * Communication and Presentation: Adobe and Microsoft suites, rendering, physical model making * Documentation: Revit and AutoCAD * Design: Rhino, SketchUp, Grasshopper, etc. Experience and Education: * A Professional Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program * Licensed Landscape Architect a plus (not required) * Experience across design phases from master planning to construction documentation and administration * Strong communication, presentation, and public speaking skills Please share a resume, portfolio (work samples), and cover letter.
