Field Support Specialist – Build, Fix, Design, LeadAbout V.I.L. Landscaping
We don’t just install landscapes — we craft six-figure outdoor living spaces with precision, pride, and intensity. Our clients expect the best, and our crews deliver at a championship level. Now we’re raising the bar again by adding a Field Support Specialist — a hands-on operator who keeps projects tight, supports the team in the field, and elevates the client experience from start to finish.
This is not a clock-in, clock-out job. This is a career track for someone ambitious, hungry, and ready to grow into an Operations Manager or VP of Operations role as V.I.L. scales.
Who You Are
- Mechanically sharp. You can troubleshoot and fix two-stroke equipment, keep skid steers/excavators running, and handle diesel equipment. You’re the person who figures it out, not the one waiting for someone else to fix it.
- Design & drawing capable. You can translate sales concepts into clean, accurate 2D site drawings with grades, measurements, and details for foremen. Your work bridges sales and field execution.
- Client-focused. You own the client experience: keeping them updated, supported, and confident throughout the project. Raising the bar for communication and professionalism is second nature to you.
- Field-ready. You’re not afraid to get dirty. You’ll jump in with the crew, haul materials, prep a site, or support production when needed.
- Organized & resourceful. You thrive in chaos, wear multiple hats, and make the impossible happen under pressure.
- Growth-driven. You see this role as your launchpad to six figures and leadership. You want responsibility, not babysitting.
What You’ll Do
- Support Field Operations
- Keep crews running by coordinating materials, tools, and equipment.
- Repair, maintain, and troubleshoot field equipment to minimize downtime.
- Step in on-site when hands are short or deadlines are tight.
- Bridge Sales to Foremen
- Create detailed job packages: 2D drawings, grade notes, and material callouts.
- Ensure foremen have the clarity they need before stepping foot on-site.
- Eliminate bottlenecks and smooth the handoff between design, sales, and install.
- Own Client Experience
- Act as the client’s point of contact throughout construction.
- Proactively update clients, answer questions, and resolve concerns.
- Deliver the professionalism and communication that set V.I.L. apart.
- Raise Standards Daily
- Help crews execute tighter jobs with fewer errors and less waste.
- Model intensity, pride, and accountability on-site.
- Identify inefficiencies, suggest improvements, and push for better systems.
What It Takes
- Mechanical experience with small engines, diesel equipment, and skid steers/excavators.
- Proficiency in 2D design/drawing software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar).
- Strong organizational skills under high pressure.
- Client-facing communication skills — written, verbal, and professional.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and long days when projects demand it.
- Hunger for growth, leadership, and eventually running operations at scale.
The Reality
This role is high-stress, high-demand, and fast-moving. You’ll wear multiple hats, juggle competing priorities, and put in long hours. If you need rigid 9-to-5 or can’t handle chaos, this isn’t for you.
But if you want to grow fast, earn big, and play a critical role in building a world-class landscaping company, this is your shot.
Compensation & Growth
- Starting compensation: competitive salary + bonus potential tied to job gross profit
- Rapid growth opportunity into six figures as we scale
- Clear path to Operations Manager → VP of Operations
