CYAN Horticulture Ltd. is a dynamic, hands-on landscape company with expertise in the design, the installation and the maintenance of mostly residential projects. Established in 2008, CYAN Horticulture has grown a reputation for creative, logistical and horticultural excellence.
We install our own designs as much as those of a handful of partner architects and landscape architects. Each project is carefully customized to better reflect a learned sense of place, strong plantsmanship and sustainability. Most new installations become regulars for maintenance: again, each with its own, customized modus operandi.
We are also operating a Vancouver-based nursery to test, grow and propagate our own plant material. On this site, employees get a chance to do some propagation and other nursery work (especially on rainy days, under cover) and participate in the growing and harvesting of the team’s vegetable plot.
All employees are involved in both new softscape installation (hardscape is mostly handled by another crew) and maintenance ⁄ upgrades on regular properties. Schedules are worked out collectively and adapted to the seasons ⁄ weather. Most projects are located in Vancouver and on the North Shore; some punctual out-of-town work (on Gulf islands, up the Coast) is compensated accordingly.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

A successful candidate should demonstrate a desire and capacity to work in a collaborative, small-scale and closely-knit team. Previous hands-on experience in this field is key, but what matters the most is:
-the capacity to perform considerable physical work at a sustained pace, rain or shine;
-punctuality, preparedness and reliability;
-positive reference(s) from previous employers, regardless of the nature of the employment;
-and a desire, curiosity to learn.
