REPORTS TO: MAINTENANCE MANAGER

The job of every employee of Tentinger Landscapes is to contribute to the success of the company by helping it grow profits and sales. The maintenance/enhancement field supervisor does this by helping the crews improve their productivity and quality by:

  • helping them improve their organization,
  • inspecting work for both quality and progress and dealing with customer requests and other issues when needed,
  • making sure the equipment is properly maintained and in good operating condition,
  • making sure that necessary materials and supplies are available when needed
  • Assisting sales, operations and office manager(s) in other capacities as needed.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist Maintenance Manager in scheduling Landscape Maintenance work including but not limited to spring cleanup, pruning, weekly mowing and bed maintenance, fertilizer applications, leaf and fall clean ups. Additionally, assist with scheduling all Enhancement work.
  2. Perform pre-visit site checks and create specific lists and tasks for crews to complete. Share reports with Maintenance Manager.
  3. Review work (post-visit site check) performed by Maintenance and Enhancement crews to make sure they meet the standards of the company and all requested tasks were completed.
  4. Ensure that the crews are ready for the day and out of the yard within a reasonable amount of time to maximize their productivity.
  5. Assist the operations and maintenance managers in finding, selecting, and training employees.
  6. Continually work to train and develop maintenance crews, laborers and foremen. Work to ensure everyone is contributing to their role on the team.
  7. Assist in keeping employees accountable on company policies and procedures.
  8. Ensure that the paperwork required of employees is completed correctly and turned in on time.
  9. Obtain and deliver materials and supplies to crews when needed.
  10. Ensure that the shop and yard areas and trucks and trailers are well organized, making sure that all parts and supplies are received and stored properly so they are available when needed.
  11. Controlling costs on all projects they are assigned to.
  12. Being flexible in work assignments so the company can meet changing customer needs and commitments, including filling in, when needed, in any of the roles of other crew members, managers, or supervisors.
  13. Seeing to it that customer and company property is handled carefully without loss or damage and that cleanup is accomplished at the end of the day and at every service or project.
  14. Helping the company find ways to improve its operations, increase sales and control costs.
  15. Serving as a good company representative and treating all customers and potential customers with honesty and respect in all business dealings.
  16. Communicating effectively and promptly and working in a spirit of cooperation with customers, management, contractors, suppliers and co-workers.
  17. Demonstrating good judgment and reasoning in the performance of their duties.
  18. Adhering to all company policies and recommending improvements to them when warranted.
  19. Performing their jobs in compliance with all applicable legal requirements and with the ethical standards set by the company, and handling all materials in compliance with applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  20. Promptly reporting all injuries, regardless of how minor, to the Maintenance/Account Manager or other manager in the manager(s) absence.
  21. Performing other duties as may be assigned.
  22. Continually improving their professional skills and job performance.
  23. Winter work and snow removal is a required part of this position and the role may vary from year to year. Managing snow routes, employees, plowing, and de-icing will be a part of this position.
  24. Assist Maintenance Manager by reviewing each yearly contract’s actual costs to budgeted costs and recommend operational changes as well as financial as part of the yearly renewal process.
