Job Description Sound & Applied knowledge of native and adoptive plants suitable for the region and climate, landscape and hardscape solution suitable . Especially experience in arid terrain, selecting and maintaining suitable drought-resistant plants species for dry environments. GSAS Certification is a preferred with good understanding and implementation of the sustainability (eco-friendly) design principles to reduce environmental impact, such as experience in sustainable / smart irrigation practices, implementation of water-efficient systems, use of renewable energy sources, and techniques to minimize environmental impact. Knowledge of animal-safe plant species and the ability to design environments that cater to the needs of both animals and visitors. Sound & applied knowledge of landscape design and integration/coordination with other design disciplines i.e. architecture, infrastructure, civil, mechanical, electrical, etc. Thorough knowledge of industry practices, regulations, sustainability standards and current technology and its effective use on the project. Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills. Experience in landscape design & construction including high-end entertainment, hospitality & commercial landscapes with knowledge of plant material, irrigation systems, outdoor lighting, and softscape & hardscape features. Experience in preparation of design/contract documents and tender packages through all project design stages inclusive of drawings, reports, specifications, presentations, design / engineering submissions, construction documents, etc. Perform professional analysis, synthesis, and recommendation of design concept and alternatives to establish, communicate and explain the project landscape design vision. Lead the design team while working collaboratively with the master planning and safari specialist teams in the development of the landscape design concepts, strategies, and engineering documents. Liaise / coordinate with all project stakeholders, authorities, sub-consultants, managers, engineering disciplines, etc. for the successful delivery of projects Maintain affiliations with professional societies to keep abreast of development of trends and technologies. Advanced proficiency in relevant software including Vector works, AutoCAD, GIS, BIM, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and contemporary digital imagery software. Knowledge of latest Landscape technologies, integration of smart technologies and its effective implementation on the project. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture. MM Registration, based on degree / qualification (if required). 15+ years’ experience in large-scale landscape projects with extensive experience in both softscape and hardscape projects, including parks, botanical gardens, zoos, etc. 5+ years’ experience in Qatar / GCC region is required.
