Would you like to be part of a team, maintaining award-winning landscapes and outdoor living spaces? Are you passionate about Landscape Horticulture?
As a member of the Landscape Maintenance team, you will be responsible for assisting in the completion of lawn and garden maintenance, tree, shrub & perennial pruning, turf fertilization, aerating and organic pest management methods. Together, with a team of hard-working, experienced individuals you will be mentored by a Red Seal Landscape Horticulturist. You also will have the opportunity to become an apprentice and to get certified in Landscape Horticulture.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Minimum 1+ year’s experience in landscape horticulture and maintenance
  • Plant knowledge and identification, and experience in horticulture practises
  • Competent in the use of power tools (Hedge pruners, lawn mowers, line trimmers, blowers etc.)
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various Maintenance practices
  • Physically fit with strong stamina and able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to follow safe and working procedures
  • Excellent observation skills and a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
  • Speak, read, and write English
  • Valid drivers license
  • Ability to get to head office or site is required (Car pooling or pickups is not a responsibility of the company)
    Salary information: $24-$28 per hour (Wage is dependent on experience)
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor, Foreperson and Lead Hand in managing safety, quality and productivity of work at sites and/ or shop/yard
  • Lawn and Garden Maintenance
  • Seasonal planting and landscape renovations & enhancements
  • Operate power equipment including, but not limited to, lawn mowers, line trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers pruning saws, aerators and power rakes
  • Perform other manual duties to clean and maintain landscape environments, shop and equipment
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
  • Be willing to work outside in all weather conditions (given it is safe to do so)
  • Comply with all company policies and regulations
