Who You Are: The Landscape Technician is accountable for overseeing the proper maintenance and enhancement of the grounds at the Cooperative Security Location. This role encompasses a variety of tasks, including lawn mowing, grass trimming, tree and shrub pruning, flower and bush planting, plant fertilization, leaf raking, and debris removal. A key responsibility of the Landscape Technician is ensuring effective irrigation throughout the premises. This includes setting up, adjusting, and maintaining irrigation systems to deliver the optimal amount of water to plants and greenery. Additionally, the technician may be tasked with pest control duties, including implementing appropriate removal measures when necessary. Weed control is another essential component of ground maintenance at the Cooperative Security Location.  The Landscape Technician is expected to employ both manual and mechanical methods to remove unwanted vegetation. In certain instances, the use of approved herbicide treatments may be applied selectively as part of the weed control process. What You’ll Do: * Responsible for maintaining the appearance and functionality of outdoor spaces, including lawn mowing, hedge trimming, flower planting, mulching, and performing minor repairs. * Manages the planting and care of trees, shrubs, flowers, and other plant life, including tasks such as watering, fertilizing, and pruning. * Installs, adjusts, and maintains sprinklers and irrigation systems to ensure proper watering. * Prepares outdoor areas for adverse weather conditions by covering furniture with protective tarps, securing loose items, and positioning sandbags as necessary. * Manages garden maintenance, including planting, fertilizing, weeding, soil conditioning, mulching, and applying pesticides. * Orders and tracks supply and equipment necessary for landscaping and maintenance activities. * Removes and disposes of trash and debris from outdoor areas to maintain cleanliness and safety. * Operates and maintains a variety of landscaping tools and machinery, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other equipment. * Ensures that pathways, sidewalks, and parking areas are properly maintained, clean, and safe. * Actively participates in landscaping projects, such as the installation of new plantings, sod, or irrigation systems. * Collaborate with other maintenance teams as required to ensure efficient operations. * Conducts routine inspections and maintenance of lawn equipment, reporting any damage or malfunctions to the motor pool for prompt resolution. * Performs regular cleaning and lubrication of equipment to maintain optimal performance and longevity. * Implement preventive maintenance protocols to ensure all equipment is consistently functional. * Cleans, polishes, and maintains the appearance of all landscaping machinery, including tractors, mowers, blowers, and weed eaters, using appropriate cleaning agents and methods. * Ensures that all blades on equipment are sharpened regularly to promote the health of vegetation and optimal cutting performance. * Adheres to safety standards by using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, and face masks when operating sharp tools or machinery to minimize safety risks. * Ensures that weed control and fertilizer practices comply with Salvadoran national and local regulations. What You’ll Bring: * High School degree  * At least One year experience in groundskeeping is preferred. * Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Embassy Security Clearance * Must have and maintain a valid Salvadoran driver’s license.  * Must be able to successfully complete and pass a drug/alcohol test.   * May be required to take a medical evaluation by a company approved physician. * Must have a safe driving record, as defined by corporate policy, to operate corporate and US Government vehicles.   * Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards and CSL standard safety practices.   * Must be able to perform duties under adverse weather conditions (extreme heat, high winds etc.).  * Must be able and willing to work alternate shift schedules when necessary to meet mission requirements, to include off-hours, weekends and holidays.         * Duties will require frequent periods of sitting, standing, kneeling, walking, crouching, crawling, reaching, lifting and balancing. Physically fit to bend, stoop, and lift in awkward positions and able to lift up to 50 lbs. * Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen. * Comply with company drug and alcohol policy. * Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate’s start date.
