Job Description We're currently looking for a Landside Coordinator on a 12 month fixed term contract to play a pivotal role in orchestrating supply chain solutions and delivering top-notch customer service. This position is your gateway to being at the heart of NPDL's operations, ensuring the efficient handling of import and export landside services, complete with customs clearances and transportation solutions for our valued shippers and importers. In this multifaceted role, you'll be the backbone of our import and export operational services, overseeing data entry, invoicing, and cartage, all while nurturing enduring customer and supplier relationships. Your responsibilities will encompass the coordination of sea and airfreight, warehousing, trucking, and more, all while extending support to third-party providers in facilitating Customs clearances for import, export, and trans-shipment. Here’s some of what you’ll do: Manage import/export, sea and air freight bookings in Cargowise Take ownership of the end-to-end coordination of export FAK & FCL containers and LCL consignments Efficiently process invoices from agents and suppliers Navigate and comply with legislative requirements related to export cargo Demonstrate a commitment to on-time file completion Coordinate the movement of inbound cargo and arranging the cartage and customs export clearances Coordinate DG cargo, check compatibility and liaise with the DG helpdesk for final approval Advise shippers/exporters of voyage details and ensure shippers are aware of receival window, cut off dates and receiving depot Ensure the whereabouts of all cargo booked and received is known on cut-off date, chasing outstanding cargo where required Liaise packing timetable with packing depot and ensure that loads are maximised, as well as coordinate empty container delivery to packing depot Ensure all LCL cargo is customs cleared prior to packing of containers Coordinate full pick up from depot to receiving port Process manifests and send out relevant documents, actioning manifest corrections where required Liaise with the finance team on any outstanding freight payments Answer emails and phone calls from clients and ensure prompt responses are given Ensure all requests to suppliers are submitted with a purchase order reference Other duties as required This is a role where you will develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, as well as contribute to the continuous improvement of our systems and processes. Qualifications You are a collaborative team player with a very high attention to detail and focus on accuracy. With the ability to operate within a cohesive team environment, you are someone who will not only be willing to learn, but flexible and adaptable to new challenges. Here’s what you’ll bring to the table: Ideally 3 to 5 years of experience in shipping/freight in a similar position Proficiency in the use of the Cargowise system would be an advantage Previous experience in a logistics-based role would be preferred Ability to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, shipping and transport companies Exceptional communication skills, with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions in fast-paced environment A demonstrated adaptability to work to changing deadlines, using effective time management and planning skills Training will be provided for someone with a “can do” attitude, a strong work ethic and an appetite for success. This is a fixed-term position based in Auckland. All applicants must have the right to live and work in New Zealand at the time of applying. The successful candidate may be subject to undergo a Police Check and/or Pre-Employment Drug Test.
