PEER WORKERS
Langs is currently accepting resumes for Peer Workers to support after-school programs, staff, and participants at our Cambridge locations.
These are contract positions for 5-10 hours/week and run from September 2025 - June 2026
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school or post-secondary student
· Possess an open-minded and non-judgmental attitude
· Live in Cambridge, preferably close to our community centers
· Have an interest in and/or have experience working with children and youth, aged 5-17 years old, in recreational programming
· Creative, enthusiastic, and nurturing personality
· Have previous leadership training and experience
· Willing to obtain High Five Principles of Healthy Childhood Development training
· First Aid Certification is an asset
Experience:
· Facilitate community youth programs when needed such as After-school programs, physical activity programs and drop-ins
· Provide support to staff and participants during programs
· Be a positive role model to child and youth participants
· Complete various administrative duties such as: program plans, program reports, behavior logs
· Assist participants and staff in conducting clean-up after the completion of programs
