Position Description: Laser Helper/Timesaver The Laser Helper/Timesaver at LayerZero Power Systems, Inc. will be responsible for assisting the laser operator in a fast-paced environment that includes setting up, maintaining, and operating the machine while ensuring quality and safety in the workplace. The laser helper will essentially perform the manual tasks while the operator manages the machine's operation. Requirements Primary Duties: Load and unload materials onto the laser cutting machine (lifting and positioning materials) Remove cut pieces from the machine and stack them according to specifications Perform basic machine maintenance Inspect finished parts to check for defects and ensure quality standards are met Assisting with minor adjustments to the machine Maintain clean workspace by removing scrap material and debris Ensure safety protocols are followed during the machine operation process Reading and interpret mechanical drawings/prints Measuring instruments such as calipers Requires standing for extended periods of time Experience & Skills: Experience/knowledge of laser machines preferred Experience with automation preferred Reading and interpret mechanical drawings/prints Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers Understanding machine programs Modifying machine programs Using PC for basic editing; logging Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school preferred.
