Description Northern Manufacturing, a worldwide leader in stainless steel fabrication, is seeking a qualified Laser Operator to join our team on second shift. Second Shift hours are 3:30pm to 1:00am for a 45-hour workweek. Duties and Responsibilities: · Set-up, program, and operate CNC flat and tube lasers to cut and fabricate parts. · Perform routine preventative maintenance and any trouble shooting required. · Monitor machine performance. · Inspect parts for inaccuracies or complications and discuss any issues with supervisor. · Responsible for handling material at workstation and loading and unloading material from the machine. · Maintain a solid understanding of different material types and thicknesses. · Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation. · Assist with other tasks throughout the shop including break out, operating a forklift, etc. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb ladders and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Requirements · High School diploma or equivalent · One year experience as a CNC operator, or a high mechanical aptitude preferred · Basic math and measurement comprehension · Ability to read and interpret blueprints · Strong trouble-shooting skills · Ability to work in an ever-changing, fast paced work environment · Strong attention to detail and high-quality standards
