JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled Laser Tube Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating CNC laser cutting machines and ensuring high-quality production standards. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to read blueprints effectively.

REQUIREMENTS

• Operate the laser cutting machine for sheet metal and tubes
• Download, scan, and install programs on the machine
• Read technical plans and perform setups for sheet and tube
• Calibrate the machine (mandrel)
• Inspect parts using precision tools and make adjustments if necessary
• Load sheets and tubes onto the machine
• Launch production after verification
• Maintain and clean the machine
• Sort, classify, and record metal scraps
• Participate in inventory counting
• Inspect materials received for finishing
• Complete quality documentation (ISO)
• Insert tubes into the machine (delicate operation – can weigh up to 300 lbs); must know how to properly handle tubes, accessories, and equipment

EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION

• Vocational diploma (DEP) in Sheet Metal Work or equivalent
• 3 to 6 years of relevant experience operating laser machines
• Strong experience in laser operation with a willingness to learn tube cutting is accepted
• Familiarity with CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, and welding techniques is advantageous.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to use calipers and other measuring tools effectively.
