Job Summary:
The role of the Laser Operator plays a crucial role in our production process. The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include operating our laser cutting machines to precisely cut and shape materials according to order specifications. This involves interpreting written instructions, drawings, and schedules to ensure accurate production. The role requires a keen eye for detail to achieve optimal precision and tolerances in the manufacturing of HIDEAWAY Inc. products. The selected candidate will be involved in the preparation of raw materials for production and the assembly of final products for shipping. Monitoring machine performance, making adjustments as necessary, and addressing any issues efficiently are key aspects of the position. The successful candidate will be committed to fostering a safety culture and perform laser cutting in compliance with safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate laser cutting machines to cut and shape materials according to specifications.
  • Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments during operations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on laser cutting machines.
  • Ensure quality assurance and record-keeping during laser cutting operations.
  • Perform troubleshooting tasks and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Conduct engraving and cutting of metal or plastic parts using laser technology.
  • Record machine settings and job notes in custom software.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient production processes.
  • Follow written instructions, drawings, and schedules to ensure accurate production.
  • Prepare raw materials for production and actively participate in the assembly of final products for shipping.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols during laser cutting operations.
  • Record machine settings and job notes in custom software.
  • Any additional tasks deemed necessary by the employer.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years experience operating a 2D and/or Tube laser cutting machines.
  • Experience working with Trumpf laser cutting equipment is considered an asset.
  • An undergraduate degree or diploma in applied sciences or engineering is considered an asset.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs without assistance.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skill
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Willingness to perform any tasks deemed necessary by the employer
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to reliability and punctuality
