Description POSITION DESCRIPTION Title: lLaser Operator Shift: 1st Shift, 6:00 a.m. - 4:00 pm. Monday - Thursday (Overtime Fridays/Saturdays as needed) POSITION SUMMARY Operators are responsible for set-up and operation of laser cutting machines to produce products meeting customer quality requirements. Operators must also operate and process parts according to print and traveler requirements. Operators must monitor machine cutting performance and utilization. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: · Understands machine setup including: program retrieval, proper gases, proper nozzles, and materials. · Understands start-up and shut down for laser machines. · Operate overhead cranes, tape measure, calipers, and hand tools. · Can perform laser cutting operations efficiently and effectively, per specifications. · Check quality of product lasered and notify supervisor of process issues. · Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. · Perform 5S housekeeping per established schedules · Other duties as assigned Requirements Required Qualifications · One or more years’ experience operating CO2 laser and/or CNC cutting machines · Working experience on multiple brands of CNC machines preferred. · Excellent attendance. · Ability to use basic math to analyze information and measuring equipment · Basic computer skills · Ability to work in a team and independently · Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instruction and written processes · Ability to inspect flat laser cut parts with precision inspection equipment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: · Physical requirements – person must be able stand for the entire shift (up to 10 hours). · Use heavy grinders at waist level for long periods of time. · Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 250 pounds while being assisted by hoists, slings, forklift or other human or mechanical assistance. · Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. · Repetitively bend, stretch, twist, or reach out.
