Description

We are seeking a skilled Laser Operator to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating Trumpf laser cutting machines to produce high-quality sheet metal components according to engineering specifications. This role requires precision, technical expertise, and adherence to safety standards to ensure efficient production and quality output.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Vocational diploma (DEP) in machining, metal fabrication, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience operating Trumpf laser cutting machines.
  • Strong ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills, including CNC interface operation and loading part programs.
  • Experience with TruTops or Boost software is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
  • Set up, adjust, and operate Trumpf laser cutting machines (e.g., TruLaser 3030, TruLaser 5030, TruLaser 3040, TruLaser Tube 7000).
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and part specifications.
  • Select and handle appropriate materials (steel, aluminum, stainless steel) in various thicknesses.
  • Optimize cutting parameters for material type and thickness to achieve precision and efficiency.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers) to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance, including nozzle checks, lens cleaning, and debris removal.
  • Log production data accurately and report any defects or operational issues.
  • Collaborate with programming and engineering teams to troubleshoot and improve setups.
  • Comply with all health and safety procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
