Description Position summary Own the shape of the boot. Run the pulling-over, toe, side and heel lasting sequence, and control the last inventory so it never gates the schedule. Essential functions Sequence work across pulling-over, toe lasting, side lasting and heel seat lasting. Set machine parameters for last shape, upper material and style. Verify against the master sample. Control the last inventory: count, condition, size run availability, and the pull-and-return cycle. Inspect lasted uppers for symmetry, toe spring, heel seat fit and wrinkling. Reject and rework before Bottoming, not after. Manage the heat and setting cycle so the shape holds once the last is pulled. Train and certify lasters. Maintain the department skill matrix. Requirements Minimum qualifications Five or more years lasting footwear, hands-on across the full lasting sequence. Able to set and troubleshoot lasting machines and to trace a shape defect back to its cause. Able to manage a last inventory against a live production schedule. Physical requirements and work environment This position works on the production floor. Standing for the full shift on a concrete floor. Occasional lifting up to 40 pounds; frequent lifting up to 20 pounds. Repetitive use of hands, wrists and arms. Exposure to leather dust, adhesive vapor and machine noise. Hearing protection, eye protection and steel-toe footwear are required. Reasonable accommodation is available to qualified individuals with disabilities. How performance is measured Pairs lasted per shift. Shape defects released to Bottoming. Whether last availability ever gates the schedule.
