JOB OVERVIEW:

PTI FABRICATION is looking for 2 experienced Lathe Operators to perform turning, facing, threading, grooving, and boring operations on conventional/manual lathe machines. The candidate should be able to understand machining drawings and independently carry out precision turning jobs for steel, stainless steel, and alloy components.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum 3 years of experience operating manual lathe machines in a fabrication or machine shop environment. Must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and machine parts to close tolerances. Familiarity with machining steel, stainless steel, and aluminum is required. Preference will be given to candidates who are immediately available to join.

The lathe operator will set up and operate conventional lathe machines to machine shafts, pins, flanges, pipe fittings, bushes, rollers, and custom mechanical parts as per drawing. Responsibilities include selecting appropriate tools and speeds, checking part dimensions using micrometers and calipers, and ensuring quality and surface finish. The candidate should be able to perform manual calculations, read engineering drawings, and work with minimal supervision. Maintenance of the lathe machine and basic workshop housekeeping are also part of the role.
