Description The Laundry Technician will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of linens, towels, and other textiles used within the facility. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining a hygienic environment for our residents and staff. Schedule: Part-Time, 4 hour shifts, Monday-Friday Primary Responsibilities and Duties: Operate laundry equipment including washers, dryers, and ironing machines (if applicable). Sort soiled linens and textiles according to color, fabric type, and washing instructions. Pre-treat stains and perform necessary repairs on damaged linens. Load and unload laundry machines efficiently and safely. Monitor and adjust washing and drying cycles to ensure proper cleaning and drying of linens. Fold, stack, and organize clean linens for storage and distribution. Inspect laundered items for quality control and remove any items that do not meet standards. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the laundry room and equipment. Follow infection control procedures and maintain a sanitary environment at all times. Assist with inventory management and ordering of laundry supplies as needed. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure timely delivery of clean linens to residents and departments. Perform all other duties as requested by management. Requirements Job Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; certification in laundry operations is a plus. At least 1 year of prior experience in laundry or housekeeping is required. Knowledge of laundry procedures, fabric types, and cleaning agents. Familiarity with infection control practices and safety protocols in a healthcare environment. Basic math and organizational skills for inventory tracking and supply ordering. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Strong work ethic with reliability and attention to detail. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift for extended periods during shifts. Capability to lift, carry, and move laundry loads weighing up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity to operate laundry equipment, handle small parts, and perform light repairs. Stamina to work in a warm, humid environment with frequent exposure to water, detergents, and cleaning chemicals. Visual acuity to sort linens by color and detect stains or damage. Tolerance for repetitive tasks and sustained physical activity.
