This role involves operating laundry equipment, handling fabrics properly, and maintaining a clean work environment. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Collect, sort, and wash resident and community laundry according to established procedures Dry, fold, and distribute clean linens and clothing promptly Inspect items for stains or damage and treat accordingly Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area Label and track residents’ personal laundry to ensure items are returned correctly Maintain laundry room cleanliness, organization, and equipment care Follow infection control and safety guidelines at all times Maintain documentation and files, for operation of laundry services Assist with other housekeeping or linen duties as needed to support the team Work with administration and other departments to ensure cooperation and communication for efficient service Attend staff meetings and in-service training as required Help Head Housekeeper with maintenance of housekeeping supplies inventory Report any maintenance issues; fixtures that need fixing or replacing to maintenance department Practice safety techniques in using cleaning supplies, particularly ensuring supplies are secured Report any known or suspected elderly abuse to the appropriate agencies, including but not limited to Adult Protective Services and Community Care Licensing Follow safety and hygiene guidelines · Perform other duties assigned Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: · High school diploma or equivalent, preferred · Experience working in hospitals, nursing homes, senior living or hotels, preferred · Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy loads (20–50 lbs) · Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and fabric care · Attention to detail and time management skills · Ability to work independently and as part of a team SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Organization and efficiency Physical stamina Reliability and punctuality Basic equipment handling Strong observational and communication skills Compassionate, patient, and dependable demeanor Organizational skills—must be able to maintain order and efficiency in performing job duties, maintain constant pace Must be able to think and make decisions consistent with policies and procedures and licensing requirements BODY POSITIONING: · Spend time bending, twisting or lifting up to 50 pounds, keeping or regaining balance, making repetitive motions, standing, walking and running and using your hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools
