Description The Virginian is currently recruiting for a Laundry Attendant to help support our Housekeeping/EVS department. This position will provide the highest level of resident and family support. This role requires a dedication to service and a passion for seniors! GENERAL SUMMARY: The Laundry Worker is responsible for carrying out the normal activities of the laundry, including washing, ironing, folding, sorting, etc. of clothing and linens. PRINCIPLE DUTIES: Essential Job Duties: Collects, cleans and redistributes the Community laundry. Ensures that all Health Center laundry is properly sorted, folded, washed and dried according to State and Federal regulations. Ensures that the laundry is maintained in a clean, orderly and sanitary condition. Other Duties: Maintains all equipment and supplies in proper condition. Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by the EVS Manager. Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by the EVS Manager Assists the department by filling in as a Housekeeper in the event of staffing shortages. Requirements Must be able to read, write, and understand English. Be able to lift and or carry loads of laundry up to 50-100 pounds
