Ensure a constant supply of clean linen and towels for the hotel by maintaining laundry operations in accordance with all housekeeping and laundry procedures, safety standards, and regulations.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, lift, and push laundry carts. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous cleaning to ensure all items are clean and properly cared for.
  • Time Management: Ability to work efficiently and complete tasks in a timely manner to meet the hotel’s needs.
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of and adherence to safety protocols for handling chemicals and operating machinery.
  • Communication: Basic verbal communication skills to report issues and coordinate with supervisors and other staff.
  • Experience (preferred): Previous experience in a laundry or housekeeping role is a plus.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Process Laundry and Linens: Wash, dry, fold, and distribute all hotel linens, including towels, bedding, and uniforms, following proper washing instructions and safety procedures. To include but not limited to:
  • Sorting items by color, fabric, and washing requirements oOperating washing machines and dryers
  • Using cleaning chemicals safely and effectively
  • Folding and storing clean laundry
  1. Maintain Laundry Area: Keep the laundry room and equipment clean and organized according to prescribed housekeeping, safety, and security procedures. This involves cleaning lint traps, wiping down surfaces, and ensuring all areas are free of debris.
  2. Manage Supplies: Monitor and restock laundry supplies, such as detergents and fabric softeners. Report any supply shortages to the Laundry Supervisor.
  3. Report Issues: Immediately report any damaged linens, mechanical problems with laundry equipment, or suspicious activities to the Laundry Supervisor.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Assist Other Departments: Help the housekeeping team with supply management or other tasks when needed, as directed by the Laundry Supervisor.
