KEY REQUIREMENTS:

A Laundry Machine/maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing laundry machines and equipment. The technician will be required to diagnose and troubleshoot laundry equipment malfunctions, perform preventative & reactive maintenance, and repair or replace defective components. The technician should possess a strong understanding of electrical systems, mechanical systems, and plumbing systems, and have experience in the repair and maintenance of commercial laundry machines.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair industrial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, ironers, folders, and press machines.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and cleaning tasks to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize breakdowns.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues across laundry and utility systems.
  • Repair or replace faulty components such as motors, belts, valves, pumps, and heating elements.
  • Install, calibrate, and commission new laundry machinery and related equipment.
  • Knowledge of and ability to manage the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of LPG and diesel-fired boilers and steam systems, including steam traps, valves, condensate lines, etc.
  • Monitor boiler and steam system performance, track fuel consumption, and maintain related logs.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using manual logs or CMMS platforms.
  • Manage spare parts inventory: track usage, maintain stock levels, and initiate replenishment requests.
  • Coordinate with third-party contractors for specialized maintenance tasks, ensuring safety and compliance.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and operations teams to ensure timely issue resolution and continuous workflow.
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems related to building utility services will be an added advantage.
  • Ensure all tools are properly maintained, third-party certified, and calibrated as required.
  • Strictly follow all company safety protocols, including PPE, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and incident reporting etc.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the line manager.

QUALIFICATION & SKILLS:

  • High school or Technical Diploma (Polytechnic/ITI in Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanics) or relevant field preferred.
  • Vocational or technical training in the repair and maintenance of laundry machines and equipment
  • 4-5 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of commercial laundry machines
  • Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings and schematics
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer literacy (for maintenance logs and reporting).
