Job Description To manage the hotel laundry operations effectively and efficiently, ensuring excellent laundry and dry-cleaning services in accordance with Raffles standards. Key Roles & Responsibilities Supervise and train staff in day-to-day laundry operations, ensuring proper prioritization of daily tasks. Ensure guest laundry, dry cleaning, and pressing are completed according to established standards. Ensure all guest requests are handled promptly and professionally; liaise with the Resident Services Manager and Butler team in this regard. Accurately record guest and staff laundry lists. Fully comply with Opera system requirements by posting charges accurately and on time. Ensure adequate stock levels of guest supplies. Assist the Laundry Manager in assessing staff attendance and performance. Assist the Laundry Manager in processing all departmental paperwork. Assist the Laundry Manager in conducting proper inventories and quality checks. Train the team in LQA standards. Conduct daily staff briefings. Ensure proper filing of all laundry reports. Regularly check all laundry machinery, ensuring filters are cleaned and press covers are in good condition; report any defects to the Engineering department. Ensure staff use laundry equipment properly and maintain it in good condition. Assist and liaise with the Housekeeping Manager regarding the laundering of sundry guest room items (e.g., net curtains, cushion covers). Liaise with the Linen/Uniform Room Supervisor regarding the processing of linens and uniforms. Maintain strict control over items sent for laundering by staff members. Comply with the hotel’s health, safety, and hygiene policies. Adhere to personal grooming and hygiene standards. Fully understand the different guest levels (e.g., VIP). Qualifications Minimum of 3 years’ laundry experience, preferably in a luxury hotel environment, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Post-secondary education. Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with previous supervisory experience. Knowledge of the Opera Property Management System is desirable. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
