We are currently seeking a Full Time Laundry Tech to work the PM shift. In this position, the Laundry Technician will provide the cleaning and delivery of resident and in-house laundry items in a timely manner. Essential Functions of the Job: Ensure the adequate supply of laundry/linen supplies is maintained in linen closets to meet the daily needs of the residents. Sort soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc., and place in covered bins and assigned areas in accordance with established laundry procedures. Fold, stack, hang, and distribute the clean laundry, linen, garments, etc., to residents in covered bins and assigned areas. Ensure that equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of the shift. Report all equipment malfunctions or breakdowns as soon as possible to the Director of Housekeeping. Ensure that all work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner. May occasionally be required to work weekends, holidays, or beyond assigned working hours, as necessary. Is subject to call-back during emergency conditions (e.g. severe weather, evacuations, etc.). Other related duties as considered necessary and/or appropriate or directed by the department manager or CEO. Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Previous experience as a laundry attendant in a hospital or senior residence is preferred Basic computer skills are required Knowledge of operating washing and drying equipment for clothing and bedding is required Must be able to lift 50 pounds Ability to communicate written and verbally in English Ability to work the PM shift (flexible start and finish times)
Responsibilities
The Laundry Technician is responsible for the timely cleaning, folding, and distribution of resident and in-house laundry items. They must also maintain laundry supplies, ensure equipment is cleaned and stored, and report any malfunctions to the Director of Housekeeping.
